Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Swachh Bharat Mission is a nation- wide campaign in India launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 02.10.2014. This aims at making India totally clean by 2019 by cleaning up the streets, roads and infrastructure of India’s cities, towns, and rural areas.
As Thiruvalluvar, great Tamil poet says,
“மருந்தாகித் தப்பா மரத்தற்றால் செல்வம்
பெருந்தகை யான்கண் படின்”. (குறள் 217)”

Unfailing tree that healing balm distils from every part, Is ample wealth that falls to him of large and noble heart.
SWACHH HERBAL GARDEN
Plant is an important source of medicine and plays a key role in world health. Medicinal herbs or plants have been known to be an important potential source of therapeutics or curative aids. Thiruvalluvar University campuses, Vellore maintain a Herbal Garden, it is very useful to students, faculty and public, who wish to know more about the medicinal plants.
CLEAN CAMPUS
Our University could be one of the example of clean campus, as our campus is maintaining the plastic free, smoke free, garbage free zone because of it cleanliness the campus provides the clean and dust free environment to students and staffs. As Thiruvalluvar Says:
.“பிணியின்மை செல்வம் விளைவின்பம் ஏமம்
அணியென்ப நாட்டிவ் வைந்து”. (குறள் 738)”

SWACHH GREEN CAMPUS
A Green Campus is the combination of sustainable eco friendly conservative practices and education. Thiruvalluvar University always has an intension towards tree plantation. Besides the mass tree plantation, THIRUVALLUVAR UNIVERSITY has environment friendly initiatives such as rain water harvesting, solar energy, honey bee garden, mushroom cultivation etc. Thiruvalluvar University has already taken various strategies to implement green campus initiatives.
